Air conditioning
In general, mobile air conditioners last from a few years to about 10 to 15 years after purchase. However, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this, as it all depends on what type of air conditioner you own and how you treat your air conditioner. If you maintain your portable air conditioner properly, clean it periodically and do not place it in a dusty room, it will last considerably longer than if you do not do this. It is also important that your air conditioner has the right cooling capacity to match the size of the room you want to cool.
Unlike a fixed/split air conditioner, a mobile air conditioner does not require periodic maintenance in terms of technical maintenance. However, this does not apply to cleaning your air conditioner. It does require regular filter cleaning, drain hose cleaning, emptying and cleaning of the condensate drain pan. This will allow your portable air conditioner to perform at its best.
No, it is not necessary. If coolant is leaking from your mobile air conditioner, it means the unit is defective and needs to be repaired. If your unit is still under warranty, please contact Evolar for an appropriate solution. If the warranty has expired, please contact a STEK-certified company.
Basically, mobile air conditioners are not dangerous to your health, provided you maintain your mobile air conditioner properly. For example, you should clean the filters regularly, as mobile air conditioners can be prone to mold and bacteria. In addition, it is important that you do not get full on cold air, just as you do with fixed/split air conditioners. In addition, it can be important to monitor the humidity and the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures. The perfect humidity is between 45 and 60 percent. If it falls below that, you may experience irritated mucous membranes and dry eyes due to dryness. In addition, a difference of about 6 degrees is perfect between outside and inside. This ensures that the transition between hot and cold is not too great and you are less likely to catch a cold.
A mobile air conditioner requires a drain hose to the outside. You may think: won't the warm air come back in just as fast? No, because a solution has been devised so that the effectiveness of the air conditioner is not lost, namely the window sealant. You can attach this to your window or door. It ensures that no warm air from outside can get in and no cold air from inside can get out. It is also important to consider the insulation of your roof, wall and windows and whether the size of your space you want to cool fits your type of portable air conditioner. It is also important to maintain your air conditioner properly and, for example, regularly clean the filters. If you take these factors into account, your portable air conditioner can be very effective.
The timer of a mobile air conditioner can be set by time. That means you can set a start and end time. So you can feel free to go away for the day and have the air conditioner activated an hour before you return. This way, you can return to a wonderfully chilled house!
AC covers
The biggest advantage, of course, is that it gives your AC outdoor unit a modern and stylish appearance. An additional benefit is also that your outdoor unit is protected from all kinds of weather conditions, such as rain, hail, storms and snow.
We can be very brief about this: no! A cover does not affect the operation of your AC. In fact, because your AC unit is well protected from outside influences, it remains easily accessible for maintenance or repairs.
They certainly can! Installing an Evolar AC cover is child's play for a technician, but you can easily install it yourself. A clear manual is always included with the cover, and the cover is easy to assemble with the basic tools provided. If you have lost the manual you can easily find it on our site at the corresponding product.
In principle, Evolar AC covers are maintenance-free. However, if your casing is made of Douglas fir, discoloration is possible. Because wood is a natural product, it may expand or shrink. We therefore recommend applying a covering oil or stain annually to minimize these factors.
